As an element of this, the accompanying investigation will connect with the peruser with a comprehension of why the ââ¬Å"Washington Consensusâ⬠became so broadly acknowledged and settled upon by a reiteration of various Latin American nations. Albeit only referencing the Washington Consensus, and the determinants that it fundamentally forces, would be a viable beginning, the examination will likewise incorporate with an inside and out conversation of every one of the 10 focuses which induces the Washington accord as a methods for understanding a definitive fascination that such a large number of Latin American nations had to this specific monetary combination and approach (Marangos, 2008). Further, the one of a kind disadvantages and unsaid failures that the Washington Con sensus will likewise be talked about concerning the manner by which partners inside this specific issue understand that it was to their greatest advantage to acknowledge the Washington accord even with its implied degree of downsides. ... cit level of comprehension regarding world undertakings, universal relations, and political hypothesis will essentially be locked in and ideally comprehended (Arestis, 2004). History/Background Firstly, before diving into a definitive method of reasoning behind why such huge numbers of Latin American nations decided to incorporate so completely and totally with Washington agreement, it must be comprehended that key full scale monetary factors all through Latin America incited and summoned a degree of more noteworthy collaboration and eagerness to endeavor an unexpected methodology in comparison to might have been understood that some other point ever (Babb, 2013). When of the 1980s, Latin America, notwithstanding a great part of the remainder of the world, was all the while reeling from the financial repercussions of the worldwide disquietude that had existed for very nearly 10 years during the 1970s. While the United States, and the remainder of the world so far as that is concerned , felt the effect of the radical increment in fuel costs that occurred during the late 1970s and mid 1980s, the effect this had after creating countries were significantly progressively significant (Duncan, 2003). This makes sense because of the way that the United States and other created countries had a degree of riches that could be utilized against an unexpected value change as for an inelastic interest. What at last provoked the oil emergency during the 1970s had to do with the rising degrees of obligation, unavailability of remote credit, and a limitation in worldwide exchange (Ruckert, 2006). Though the fuel emergency of the 1970s and mid 1980s was obviously of pertinence, it should additionally be comprehended that this specific issue was a huge contact with respect to creating countries around the globe; particularly Latin American nations. The justification behind this is because of the way that Latin

Shape-ups Sketchers
Shape-ups Sketchers Shape-ups Sketchers Shoes HomeâºMarketing PostsâºShape-ups Sketchers Shoes Marketing PostsIn todayâs society we notice the influence of media on the younger generations and how the ad may seem simple but advertising products are built to have hidden agendas (Eric 1988). In America the news and media have made it a point that obesity is a huge factor in the diet of Americanâs. We find that majority of people are over weight and this is all due to the laziness that products bring to life. There is always an easy way out when a hard task is at hand. On magazines, television, and new papers we have all seen the new Shape Up Shoes that claim to have an affect in your diet when you wear them. Though customers may have different opinions, the ad shows the obvious outcome of what these shoes can do. Shape Up Shoe ads are merely the beginning of breaking down ads but taking a magnify glass to the ad will surely break down the content, text, and picture angles (Fowles 1976).Just looking at the ad we can identify that placing Joe Montana presents an image of being in his shoes. Although most consumers wonât ever get close to his life style there are still the hopefuls that give into the shoes and buy what is paying for good advertising. Joe Montana is a young athletic man who is fairly good looking and it portrays an illustration of the future shape up owners. This is ad is placing Joe Montana on purpose to target athletic people and even if someone is not familiar with who Joe Montana is they will still see a handsome young man. This is just the coating on the surface of this ad but going in depth with this will prove to show how deceiving this ad is.At first glance the Shape Up Shoes ad seem to be straight forward as to how it catches its prospective buyers, but looking twice may be a natural reaction since the scenery shows to be beautiful. Joe Montana may catch the eyes of men due to his fame but the scenery is famous for catching the ladies eyes. Women natur ally like to see nature in a striking way and whatâs better than to have a man and surroundings such as the ones in the ad. When people go through magazines they often try to relate their lives to the ones in the pictures. This is why advertizing companies exaggerate the emphasis of beauty and glamour in marketing. If the picture does not grab you then the written proof will certainly pull you into the advertisement. In big letters across the front we see the page say âGET BACK INTO THE GAME,â which can define life as a game. We often find ourselves playing games in love, work spaces, and in family but having it promoted in magazines only makes you wonder if your still a game piece in the game of life. Do Shape Up Shoes really put you back into the game of life once you have fallen off? Maybe having these shoes will allow you to look better, therefore your outlook on life will improve and your game strategy will change. Its no lie that life is a struggle but this ad implies tha t it will help you get back in there and enjoy it once again. Speaking of enjoying life we can also identify a smile on Joe Montanaâs face, which only backs up the joy in life these shoes bring to customers. Being that all this could occur with just one phrase one can only for see the corrections these shoes make in life.Looking into other written material we see that these shoes are promising to burn more calories, tone muscles, improve posture, and reduce stress in back and legs. If one pair of shoes can do all this, wouldnât you want them too? Itâs hard to say no to a pair of shoes that could do so much. The obesity in America is so high that anything that can possibly help that fact would make consumers dive into it. If you think about it having more calories being burnt that what youâre having being burnt now sounds good right? Itâs like having double the workout without having to do double the work. Also to have your muscles toned seems nice, especially since appeara nce is a great factor in where your life can lead you. Being in shape and healthy can draw the fine line to getting a job or finding Mr. Right. Any woman would jump into this for a better body.Women are most definitely concerned of their looks since they go through ups and downs in their lives. Having good posture is probably the least important on the list of wonderful things these shoes can do but it is also a difficult thing to teach one to do. Having good posture is the most taught to teach especially in children, which leads to show that these shoes are almost universal to all ages and genders. Finally the ad promises to lower stress in your legs and back. What makes this strange is the not many people are aware their legs and back can be stressed but they do know that their backs and legs ache. Using the word stress exaggerates the need to reduce the strains. Although it may seem clever it only makes people wonder how these shoes work (Lutz). What is it that makes these shoes do all this and still look good enough to wear on in public? This brings us to the website that is written in the corner. It seems as though the ad does not have enough room to advertise the greatness of this product therefore it results in putting it on a website which will in turn present you with more appealing factors to purchase these Shape Up Shoes. These shoes are so great that they even have a website, this allows the consumer know that they are not a beginning product this product has worked which has lead to the making of a website.Notice that the only thing that is not shown in the ad is the pricing. After looking at the pricing it was obvious why this factor is not placed on the front page in bold letters. These shoes are nearly a hundred dollars for one pair. Now if this economy was doing wonderful we could understand the huge price tag but seeing that society lacks jobs and income, the advertisers for the Shape Up Shoes have found it necessary to hide the price. People these days are looking for bargains and this is not exactly a bargain. Having Shape Up Shoes are something a person wants but does not need therefore this ad is trying to make the amount of want in an individual go so high that regardless of price they will charge it just to have the image in the picture. This advertisement was obtained from inside a peopleâs magazine. Majority of this ad is covered with Joe Montana wearing a baby blue Sketchers Fitness Footwear jersey looking like a stud with the Shape-ups shoe in his right hand. The background of Joe Montana is a cloudy sky, which is a technique to draw the viewers into Joe Montana and the product. Joeâs face looks really bright, which brings joy to his personality when heâs carrying the shoe. The visual content, text, and angle and vantage point of a Shape-ups Sketchers advertisement indicates getting back on your feet and staying in shape can be achieved by purchasing those shoes. The visual content of the whole advertisemen t displays Joe Montana and the Sketchers shoe that can help you stay in shape. Sketchers Shape-ups used Joe Montana as quarterback in this ad, but instead of a football, he is pretending to throw a Sketchers shoe. The fact that heâs wearing a Sketchers shirt makes him look like an athlete that wears that shirt to work out and dedicates him to Shape-ups shoes. The fact that they chose him as a role model for a lot of elderly men is very important because he gives them hope to have another shot to a healthier life by purchasing these shoes, and start walking without any form of athletic exercise but in reality, as a football player, I know how hard it is to get back in shape and have a lean body. The bigger message behind then content is you can have hall of fame, live as a legendary athlete, or even make millions of dollars. The text they chose to use is very influential because of the important facts and visual effects to tie back to the product. If this ad didnât have any text o n it, I would not be able to tell the difference between the products but when viewing this ad with all different colors, it made it stand out from any other simply because they used red on white and blue to convey cool and intense feeling to grab their audienceâs attention. Besides the Joe Montana text, he signed his name so the audience can recognize his fame. They also used facts such as âDesigned to helpâ, âburn more caloriesâ, âtone musclesâ, and âimprove posture to reduce stress on back and legsâ.As Ewen proposes for effective ads, when it comes down to angle and vantage point, Sketchers advertisement portrays higher value power over the audience. Since they took a low angle shot, it indicates that Joe Montana has a higher power and we are looking up to him because he was a leader from NFL. This technique also conveys the idea that they could put their feet in Joe Montana shoes and be an athlete. We are more attracted to products that are offered by celebriti es. This image is definitely exaggerated since Joe is holding a shoe instead of a football. The only thing that is different in the background is the cloudy sky, other than that; the foreground is all Joe Montana with a shoe.Using content, text, and angle and vantage point, Sketchers has been persuading their audience to purchase the shape-ups shoes by using celebrities such as Joe Montana that was a former quarter back for NFL. This is one the best methods to demonstrate that shoes can do an outstanding task without putting any pressure on your body. In my opinion, wearing spectacular shoes does not make you âBurn more caloriesâ or âImprove your postureâ that is why we have gym and personal trainers to help us obtain that goal over a long period of time.

Maximillien Robespierre Essay - 1722 Words
Maximillien Robespierre Maximillien Robespierre is commonly viewed as the symbol of the Reign of Terror, the short period in which thousands of people were executed because they were thought to be traitors. However, Maximillien was actually an idealistic reformer with an image of peace and equality driving him on, who is unfairly credited with the Terror, and assumed to be a power-hungry tyrant. Maximillien was able to attend a prominent educational institution. He became an intelligent person and pursued a career in law. His practice exposed him to an interest in humanity and the abused rights of many people (Hanson 32). Maximillien was opposed to violence. While a judge, he condemned a murderer and, according to hisâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Robespierre was honestly working for the good of the people. He once stopped 75 Girondins from being tried for signing a secret protest against their leadersââ¬â¢ arrests, knowing they would be executed (Hampson 139). Much of the public understood and loved Robespierre. When he was finally arrested, the prison guard refused to hold him (Gaxotte 223). Instead of fleeing, he returned to Paris where a crowd of his followers congregated. He absolutely forbid them to fight for him, as they were planning (Geib). His altruistic efforts suggest some outside force caused the change in his allowing of the more brutal manner of reform ation, later, when the many thousands of people were executed. Jean-Jacques Rousseau may have influenced Robespierre with his strong nationalist views, being an important, and influential role-model for Robespierre. It is said that Robespierre slept with a copy of Rousseauââ¬â¢s Social Contract next to him (Halsall). Rousseau thought that it was the greatest of all sins to continue in life when one believes there is a better way (Searle). Robespierre knew there was another way; a republic, free of the uncaring rule of powerful monarchs. This idea may have encouraged Robespierre to press for reformation at all costs. The Great Depression Was A Time Of High Unemployment Rates
The Great Depression was a time of high unemployment rates and an unsustained economy that was triggered in part by the stock market crash in 1929, but mostly occurred due to the problems in the industry and agriculture during this time. In the housing industry, there were issues surrounding the shortage of houses that were being built during this time. This lead to an immediate decline in need for glass, wood, and other construction materials subsequently causing these industries to fail as well. The coal industry plummeted about 50% after the recent discoveries of power from hydroelectric sources, natural gas, and oil. This was similar to the decline of the railroad industry due to the rise of trucks, busses, and cars as the primary sources of transportation. Agricultural demand significantly decreased following the end of World War I leaving many farmers (who had taken out loans from the bank to pay for increased production) broke and with an excess amount of produce that the y could not sell for a substantial price. President Herbert Hoover was elected in 1928, during which the economy and the country were thriving. However, the Great Depression struck in 1929 which plummeted the country into a state of high unemployment in which many citizens of the country lived in a state of hunger and poverty. My Favorite Movie Free Essays
My Favorite Movie There are thousands of movies in the United States. Many people have several favorite movies throughout their lifetime. Some people have favorites from each decade. We will write a custom essay sample on My Favorite Movie or any similar topic only for you Order Now Though many movies have grabbed my attention, my favorite is the eighties movie The Breakfast Club. I love the main characters, the amazing storyline, and the original ending. I have watched this movie many times and it never gets old to me. The reason I love this movie is that I can relate many of the characters to people I know or have met throughout my life. I relate myself to Alisson Reynolds, who comes off as strange and reserved. She is insecure and alone, but she wants to be noticed. John Bender (the bad boy of the group) has a hard shell but he is soft at heart. John reminds me of many gentlemen I enountered in high school. The popular girl, Claire Standish, and my best friend are so similar it is scary. They are insecure and feel neglected by their parents, but are envied by outsiders for their looks and financial stability. As the movie starts, the storyline captures my attention and glues me to the screen. In the beginning, five high school students with nothing in common face spending a Saturday in detention together in their high school library. Detention starts out kind of rocky at first. The students see each other as different and make judgements based on social statuses. As the movie progresses, the students start to open up to one another. Allison is a compulsive liar and craves attention because she feels invisable. Brian and Claire are ashamed of their virginity. Andrew even tells his classmates the real reason he is in detention. Later, it is also discovered that each person in the group has a strained relationship with at least one of their parents. I think that the storyline shows that Andrew is right, ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, thatââ¬â¢s all. â⬠-Andrew (The Jock), The Breakfast Club. The ending of the movie is the icing on the cake because everyone becomes a friend. Andrew seems to be interested in Alisson. Claire kisses John and it looks like the two characters might start a relationship. The group decides to have Brian write about the assigned topic. He writes a letter to the principal objecting to his request to describe who they are, stating that the principal has already judged who they are and he will not accept anything different from the students. To the outside world they are simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess, and the Basket Case, but to each other, they will always be the Breakfast Club. As many times as I have seen this movie, it still keeps me entertained. The main characters still remind me of friends and family. The plot entrances me like no other movie I have seen. More than anything else, the ending makes me want to watch the movie all over again. Everyone should see this movie at least once in his or her lifetime. It has been my favorite for many years and I think that it will be a hard film to top. How to cite My Favorite Movie, Papers My favorite movie Free Essays Hardships and challenges are scattered everywhere over and along the path that leads us to fulfillment and happiness; yet, these factors are easily brushed aside if we live our lives with diligence and hard work. The movie Pursuit of Happiness exemplifies the correlation of these elements and manifest into something we call Life. The film has become my favorite movie because of its rendition of things which are common to us all, the hardships and misfortune we all have to face in the pursuit of happiness. We will write a custom essay sample on My favorite movie or any similar topic only for you Order Now This movie tells of a bright and talented man and his son, struggling with poverty, who has to endure many hardships, including living in shelters, in pursuit of his dream of a better life for the two of them. In a way, all of us can relate to the different performersââ¬â¢ portrayal of going through life. Thus, all of us are interconnected by a common bond of misfortune and hardships; however, with perseverance, we can see that we all can be triumphant over these life challenges. Christopher Gardner, the father in the movie, said to his son ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t ever let someone tell you that you canââ¬â¢t do something. Not even me.â⬠This line suggests that no matter how other persons employ schemes to discourage and pull us down, we have to be firm and trust ourselves in seeing us through overwhelming odds. It is rather apt that the father said to his son ââ¬Å"You have a dream, you gotta protect it. People canââ¬â¢t do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you canââ¬â¢t do it. You want something? Go get it, period.â⬠Therefore, the challenges that life has to throw at us can best be overcome alone by perseverance and the unflinching desire to succeed in life. I was moved by the fatherââ¬â¢s love for his son, that in order to let his son experience a better life, he has to accept an internship job at a brokerage firm without compensation with the hope that he will become a regular employee for the firm someday. Many of us might wince at the thought of working for six months without pay, but Christopher Gardner accepted the challenge, all for the sake of his son and in pursuit of happiness. A priest in the movie, Reverend Williams said that ââ¬Å"The important thing about that freedom train is itââ¬â¢s got to climb mountain. We all have to climb mountains, you know. Mountains that go way up high, and mountains that go deep and low.â⬠This statement holds true in life. We have the freedom to choose what we should be; in essence, we make our own destiny. But before we realize our dreams in life, we have to face many obstacles and trials. As we search for happiness in our lives, we are taken into the depths of agony and pain brought upon by our failures or thrust towards the top of the mountains when we triumph over adversity. One thing that we need is to have a positive outlook in life. In spite of the troubles that will come our way, these should not dim our hopes of achieving what we want in life. If we ever search for a man who epitomizes the triumph of perseverance over adversity, let us just remember Christopher Gardner in this movie, and hear his words in our minds saying ââ¬Å"if you have a dream, protect it, go for it, and get it.â⬠Although in different ways, all of us pursue happiness. Thus, in achieving this end, we should be firm in our intention and should not bow down to the challenges that life has to throw at us. As commented by Pollitt (2013), the target structuring is also done with the help of human resource policies and procedures. The main focus of steel organization is sales and manufacturing of steel product. The strategies adopted regarding employee performance is based on leadership style, reward system and other similar factors. Effectiveness and necessity of relationship between performance and financial rewards Hambrick et al. (2015) commented on the essential fact that the relationship between performance of the employees within the organization and the financial rewards is directly proportional. The better the employees will be provided with the good financial rewards, the better will be their performance and output. In this organization it is seen that the manager had freeze the payment of the employees for the past three years that is one of the reason of poor performance of the employees According to the outlook and opinion of Malik et al. (2015) the employees due to lack of monetary benefits and payment are leading a poor and low quality of living standard. This therefore is directly impacting on the current performance of the employees. Even after the Directional Director is appointed and some major changes are brought in the organization but still the performance is seen not up to the bench mark. Though the attitudes and perceptions of the employees changed within the organization a long with the earning of bonuses for seven months out of twelve months, still major change in performance is not seen. As opined by Han et al. (2015) the major changes in the performance will be seen of the employees are provided a good pay-scale and salary as per the employee standards. Moreover the incentives, bonuses and compensation benefits also need to be present within the organization that helps the employees in getting motivated to the maximum extent. Moreover the organizational culture as well as transformational leadership also needs to be implemented within the organization. According to the outlook of Dee and Wyckoff (2015) this leadership provides rewards for excellent performance and punishment for bad performance. So this method motivates the employees extensively and hence they tend to work better for financial benefits and thereby their performance level also improves extensively. A well structured financial reward system that consist of a fair incentive, compensation and monetary beneficial stricture need to be improvised with the organization in order to attract the employees more to work better and more systematically for better output. Other than this from the outlook and opinion of Malik et al. (2015) the communication within the organization also need to be improved extensively so that the employees understand the work and the teams perform better for higher productivity. This therefore helps in increase in performance of the employees that directly affects their monetary reward system and therefore improves the living standard of the employees. This is a motivating factor that helps in improving the performance of the employees. Conclusion The assignment discusses about the several performance indicators of the targets that helps in maximizing the performance of the employees. The leadership skills are changed from autocratic style to both transformational and transactional styles. This helps on monetary benefits of the employees those performing good within the organization. Other than this the incentive structure also need to be excellent in nature that helps in attracting the employees to work better. Moreover the communication within the organization needs to be from both ends that will helps in understanding each others problem and methods of doing the work. References: Malik, M. A. R., Butt, A.
